    Backstory

Born and raised in Central Kentucky, Dylan's parents didn't want him to have video games as a kid because they were worried he'd become obsessed. Little did they know how right they were! Fortunately, his Grandma decided he needed video games no matter what Mom and Dad thought, and gave him an NES for Christmas when he was 6 years old. It was true love from the beginning — from that day on, if you wanted to find Dylan, he was in front of the TV with a controller in his hand.

In high school, he got his first ever job so that he'd have the money to buy a Playstation 2 at launch. After he graduated, he parlayed his love of games into a job in gaming retail, where he worked for the next decade. From behind a register, he witnessed the highs and lows of gaming throughout the early 00s — the fall and rebirth of Sega, the rise of Xbox from an also-ran to a force to be reckoned with, and the massive family and casual gaming explosion that came with the Wii and DS.

Shortly before the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One, Dylan left his gaming retail job to go work at an office for a few years. Then he and his wife had a kid, then another, then one more. He left the office job to do the stay-at-home-Dad thing, which has been the wildest challenge he's ever loved every second of. When he's not changing diapers or playing pretend, chances are he's playing games, reading about games, watching videos about games, or just thinking about games. Now, he's finally again able to put that gaming obsession to a good cause, in his position as a writer for High Ground Gaming!
