Gotaga Analysis

The most interesting thing about Gotaga’s setup is that he isn’t creating a build around just one eSports title. Being a variety streamer, everything he uses must serve multiple purposes and translate between games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, Overwatch and Fifa.

He has a certain affinity for the SteelSeries set of Mouse and Keyboard peripherals, using them to their full potential by establishing special mouse and keybinds specifically in Fortnite. The keybind setup he currently has doesn’t resemble the typical assortment for quick weapon and build keys, as he instead ops for special numerical keys for these slots.

His chair is a special build that he acquired through a partnership with QUERSUS, which includes removable headrests and a reinforced base with adjustable support systems. His PC build is geared toward speed and processing power, with a great amount of RAM and SSD add-ons that go beyond the standard setup. This same focus extends to his streaming PC, which he uses a similar Motherboard and GPU for and regularly upgrades whenever necessary.

Gotaga really allows his skills and in-game performance to do the talking, with the rest of his setup being just enough to achieve high performance without getting too outrageous.

 Gotaga Bio

Corentein “Gotaga” Houssein was born on September 7, 1993 in Mantes-la-Jolie, France. Finding interest in gaming at a young age, due to his father’s job as a computer scientist, he was given his first Xbox console at the age of 8. By 2010 he would officially enter the professional Call of Duty Scene, with the full support of his parents. Before diving into e-sports, he originally planned on pursuing the scientific terminal specialty in high school, possibly looking to emulate his father’s career.

It would seem that his success from deciding to pursue e-sports and streaming full time would place that original plan firmly in the rear view mirror. In 2013, due to his growing popularity and skill playing COD, Gotaga joined the newly formed French eSports organization, Team Vitality, as the COD team captain. Known for his aggressive playstyle, he became known as the “French Monster” by his competitors in the Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3 eSports scene. Gotaga would end up being the focal point of Team Vitality, working with several different team compilations throughout his time as captain.

He would remain in this position through 2015, leading the young team to a fair amount of success that many began to perceive as a direct answer to the heavy competition in the west. While his team did fail to qualify for the Call of Duty World League Invitational in 2018, Gotaga began to find success outside of the professional league.

In 2019 he beat both Ninja and Shroud in the ESPN world influencers’ tournament, becoming the first European to win the title. Additionally, he announced a partnership with Adidas and was officially announced to be the Top French Variety streamer on Twitch. It’s easy to say that he only continues to build on his success and keeps branching out his brand and competitive prowess going into 2020.
