Professional esports player, streamer and Youtuber Daequan is known just as much for his humor as he is for his elite Fortnite skills. A member of Team SoloMid (TSM) he made his mark in the Fortnite community by popularizing the ‘Double Pump’ and winning several early Fortnite invitationals. Always the entertainer, the number of followers he has reflects his charm with over 5 million subscribers on YouTube and over 3 million followers on Twitch.

Daequan has been on the scene even before Fortnite caught fire, playing competitively in a number of titles and still going strong today. Read on to find out more about how he got where he is.

Daequan’s setup is all about squeezing as much power out of his PC as possible. With additional memory and an advanced cooling system, he’ll never have to worry about dips in performance while playing. This is quite the upgrade in all the right places compared to his setup in 2018, with an improved GPU component that compliments this high-end build.

While still showcasing dedication to the Logitech residuals, Daequan has taken a note out of his teammate Myth’s playbook and switched his headset over to the Astro A50. Still a very high-quality setup, sometimes finding the gear that’s comfortable and works effectively is just as good as continuously looking for peak performance.

Rounding out his streaming setup, Daequan even shows dedication to Logitech when it comes to his face camera. Like with his PC build, the use of the Blue Yeti mic provides excellent recording quality while keeping the equipment light, mobile and easy to use.

Despite his consistency with is gear and setup, Daequan’s streaming schedule is rather erratic. Typically streaming for only a few hours most days of the week, it’s best to follow him on twitter to be notified for whenever he does announce a stream.

While he would regularly place within the Top 25 in tournaments, Daequan really found his footing on Twitch and YouTube, quickly establishing a massive following around his quick wit and even quicker reflexes. Coining phrases such as “Come to Papa” he’s let his personality and conversational style drive his content, leaving him open to try out new games as they come out rather than being always tied to Fortnite exclusively.

In June of 2019, he shared that his spine was misaligned and due to the continuous pain he was experiencing would have to step away from regularly streaming. In late July he has since returned with a slightly lighter schedule, showing that even in dire circumstances nothing seems to be able to slow down Daequan’s success. He’ll most likely continue to be one of the most exciting and entertaining Fortnite players to watch for years to come.
