Liquid Poach Analysis

Being one of the younger emerging Fortnite players when he first started, Poach made a name for himself by going against the styles of most players, and focusing on being aggressive and winning in all-out shootouts. His streaming time, while not always consistent, is focused on improving specific aspects of his play and getting in as much time on the platform as possible.

One unique portion of his setup has been the willingness to dive deep into video settings and test out wider resolution setups. While this is the way he currently plays, he acts as a player that is willing to shake things up on the regular if it gives him an edge.

Liquid Poach’s Bio

The start of Poach’s career is unusual, to say the least. Originally from New Jersey, Jake Brumleve or Poach set out to make a name for himself as a content creator on YouTube. Well before stepping into Fortnite, his game of choice was MC-WarZ, a brawler survival mode within Minecraft. After running his channel for a time, and finding little traction on the platform, he went dark and eventually reemerged on Twitch streaming Fortnite.

In order to gain traction in the space, he began recording himself taking on larger streamers such as Myth and Tfue, eventually leading to him joining up with Chap, 72Hrs and Strafesh0t forming what would become the original Team Liquid Fortnite squad. His aggressive play style and willingness to take risks meshed well with his teammates and they soon found themselves being signed onto team Liquid and flying across the country for the team’s launch.

Throughout 2018 and 2019, Poach and the rest of Team Liquid built themselves up as the team to beat, consistently finishing in the top 10-15 of official competitions and the Fortnite Summer Skirmish series. While the back half of 2018 saw them struggling to adjust to the game’s meta, Poach has held consistent and continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the competitive space.

Like most of his team, not much is known about the player outside of his role with Team Liquid, but he continues to improve his playstyle and should consistently be within the top 10 conversations going into 2020.
