HyperX is announcing a new collaboration to make a limited-edition mechanical gaming keyboard. HyperX – the gaming division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc. – will be working with DuckyChannel International Co. Ltd. to produce the HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini.
The new One 2 Mini is set to sport a 60 percent form factor, HyperX red linear mechanical switches, and RGB exposed backlit keys, with its design based on the pre-existing Ducky One 2 Mini keyboard layout. Its mechanical switches will boast an 80 million lifetime click rating, each one topped by a Ducky PBT double-shot seamless keycap. The switches and keycaps are designed to provide a shorter actuation point, quick recognition, and personalized lighting.
In addition, the keyboard will support Ducky Macro 2.0, which facilitates the aforementioned personalized lighting as well as macro customization, allowing for “up to six custom hardware-enabled profiles.”
Representatives from both companies expressed their enthusiasm for the collaborative project.
“We are excited to announce our limited-edition keyboard collaboration with Ducky, known for their high-quality and performance-oriented mechanical keyboards in the gaming market.”
Jennifer Ishii, HyperX’s Keyboard Business Manager
Senior marketing executive for DuckyChannel International Co. Ltd., Eric Hsieh, was also quoted in the press release.
“Our collaboration with HyperX is all about delivering solid and reliable mechanical gaming keyboards, we can’t wait for our users to use the HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini.”
Eric Hsieh, Senior Marketing Executive for Ducky
As a limited-edition keyboard, the HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini will sell for $109.99 MSRP with 3,700 units available worldwide. Each unit will feature a black and red color scheme, three adjustable keyboard angles, and it will come with a Ducky keycap puller and Year of the Rat spacebar, as well as extra colored keycaps.
The HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini can be found at HyperX’s Online Shop from May 12 onward.
