    Backstory

I have loved video games before I even knew what they were. I also love writing (am working on becoming a successful fantasy author), anime, tabletop roleplaying etc. In college, I was part of a club for all four years named BSFFA (Beloit Science Fiction and Fantasy Association), which should tell you just how much of a nerd I am (if the previous facts didn't)

Humor has always been a big part of my life. I have been telling jokes since I was single digits and did improv comedy for about eight to ten years (don't remember the exact number). Because of this, humor almost always finds its way into my writing whether I want it to or not.

In addition to being a comedic nerd, I am anomalously logical, have strange eating habits, and am frankly a weirdo in many respects. But don't take that to be self-deprecating. It is merely a factual statement.

New World Hemp Farming Guide: Best Locations

The MMO New World offers many unique experiences when compared to most other MMOs. It has some of the standard stuff, but the in-depth crafting systems alone make it stand out. But if you're still in doubt about the MMO status of New World, just ask yourself - how...

New World: How to Get Petrified Wood

New World has many different types of resources you need to gather to enjoy all aspects of the game. And within each resource type there are multiple variations. It’s not as simple as getting wood from trees. Do you need green wood? Wyrdwood? Petrified wood? If it's...

The 4 Modern Deck Archetypes in MTG and MTG Arena

In the popular TCG Magic: The Gathering, there are four major deck archetypes: aggro, control, mid-range, and combo. There are other subcategories and deck sub-types such as white weenie or ramp heavy little Timmy decks, but those four archetypes are the main broad...

Slay the Spire: Tips for Beginners

Slay the Spire is essentially the father of the roguelike deck builder genre. Many similar games have come about since the game first launched (a fact for which I am very grateful), but Slay the Spire is still the most popular. For those who are unfamiliar with the...

New World: Paladin Build Guide for Solo and Group Play

Holy warriors, champions of light, defenders of the weak, and protectors of justice. Can I get a Deus vult?! That’s right, in this New World guide we are going to talk about how to build a paladin, one of the most beloved archetypes in tabletop role-playing games and...

New World: Best Dexterity Build and Weapons Guide

As someone who greatly enjoys the classic sneaky rogue archetype and build, I can say that New World does a pretty good job representing its dexterity based heroes. There are plenty of good weapon options and several playstyles available for those who want to showcase...

    New World: Furnishing Leveling Guide

For most gamers, unless you’re playing The Sims or Animal Crossing, you probably don’t care about getting an end table for your house. Hell, you probably can’t even own a house (just like in real life). But New World lets you not only own your own house (three of them...

    New World: Greatsword Weapon Guide

It's been a while since we've done a New World weapon guide, but the recent Brimstone Sands expansion brings a brand new weapon with it — the greatsword! With that in mind, let's take a look at all the new skills and stats to see if the New World greatsword really is...

New World: Mote Farming Guide (2023)

Who in MMOs enjoys harnessing the raw power of the elements? I'd venture to guess most of us. It's awesome, and you can do it in New World with mote farming! Sure, you could hurl fireballs or call down blizzards, but even a mote of that power can be strong in its own...

How to Make Money in New World: Gold Farming Guide

Ah, farming, a noble practice for real salt of the earth folks. Fun fact: my dad grew up on a farm. It builds character, gives you lots of injuries. But that’s not the kind of farming we’re going to talk about today. Instead, we're going over how to farm gold in New...

New World Wyrdwood Farming Guide: Best Locations

I’m a lumberjack and I’m okay. I gather all night and I craft all day. Even if this doesn't describe you, you'll still have to do your fair share of logging in New World. After all, wood is used to make a lot of the essentials! The thing is, once you get past a...
