On May 5th, monitor display manufacturer AOC announced that it had reached the #1 global market share for PC monitor companies in 2019. The company also claimed to have grown 67% in 2019, which would make it the fastest-growing company in its field in North America. They cited the IDC Quarterly PC Monitor Tracker as their source, which defines “monitors” as having a refresh rate of no less than 100Hz.
Chris Brown, Global Monitor Marketing Director at TPV, elaborated on AOC’s goals: “we strive to deliver gaming monitors that are equipped with the latest in innovation, while also providing an unparalleled gaming experience for our users.”
AOC offers a couple of product lineups, including the AOC G-Series, which is developed specifically for gaming. The company also manufactures the AGON Series, a line specifically targeting hardcore gamers and the eSports market. That series received a number of accolades from 2018-2020, including “Best Gaming Monitor” and “Best Value.”
AOC also likes to emphasize its “Re-Spawned Warranty” program, which covers the G-Series for three years and the AGON Series for four. As part of the program, AOC will send a new monitor if any dead pixels appear on your screen whatsoever, without waiting to receive a replacement. That said, you’re only covered for one accident, and that coverage lasts for one year.
